Hand carved bos tuarus bone Barong & Rangda cufflinks with ruby eyes and white rhodium plated sterling backs.
Barong is the king of the spirits and the leader of the hosts of good. The shadow side or dark side is represented by Rangda, the demon queen and mother of all spirit guarders. Rangda is also considered a protective force in certain parts of Bali, much like Kali is seen as a benevolent mother goddess in the Indian states of West Bengal, Assam, Tripura and Kerala.
The dance of the two represents the eternal battle between good and evil. For perfect balance can not be achieved without both the light and shadow side.
