Antique mint trio enamel cufflinks
Antique cufflinks made with mint, turquoise and black translucent enamel over sterling silver. Made in The United States during the 1920's using the same enameling techniques as Peter Carl Faberge. The cufflink was an essential element during the Art Deco period in men's fashion with the introduction of a diverse wardrobe from formal evening clothes, day clothes to sports and leisure wear.
The style of the Art Deco period reflected admiration for the design qualities of machine-made objects. Over all, the movement followed simplicity, symmetry, and unvaried repetition of elements.
It was a time of great change in major cities around the world with prosperity for many, mass advertising and consumerism, and an emphasis on the era's social, artistic and cultural dynamism. (Wikipedia & American-Historama.org)
